Beautiful entry. The 'planet' boundaries look odd.. . not sure exactly why, but they seem smeared where they touch.

obscure fact of the day: "jovian" is the proper word to refer to someone or something from jupiter ;-)

oops... someone already brought this up

:D

Congrats jobi! ;)

SheckyS said 3 years ago 8/22/2006 3:36:00 PM EDT

Is this to scale? I think Jupiter is actually much larger relative to Earth. :)

Sariel said 3 years ago 8/23/2006 9:25:23 PM EDT

i find this concept very appealing. good idea. however, though the porportions portrayed are convincing, earth is much smaller than that - jupiter's famous "red spot" is wide enough to fit three earths across it. Bill Nye the Science Guy said so, yeah hurr.

clickbouyow said 3 years ago 8/25/2006 8:18:04 AM EDT

I like the concept, however they would be called Jovians, not Jupitarians.

That's the atmopheres being riped from their respective planets by greater gravitaional forces.

BTW I thought the main issue with Pluto's planethood was with it's irregular orbit, not it's size...

1DOT618033989 said 3 years ago 1/26/2007 2:18:15 PM EDT

The so-called "issue" was Pluto not having "cleared its orbit".
WADR, the adjectival form of "Jupiter" is "Jovian".
