This one is really funny. I like that the teacher told him it was all wrong because he did something outside the ordinary. Bet they're kicking themselves now, huh?

Absolutely brilliant! I love the take on the teacher grading it. I don't know what else to say about this, it's astounding. You are thinking outside the box for this contest and it's great. If this entry doesn't win, I will be very sad, but when you do win I just hope I'm the first to be able to give you a juror's pick for it.
You are the kind of photoshopper that makes everyone else stand in awe of your cunning design, and thus raise the quality level at the site. i like the idea but i think that the marks are distracting from the accual drawing otherwise good job!

wow this is on a different level to the rest of 'em. there's loads of esher fans on this web sites too i've noticed, why is that? i only discovered him recently when i read "Godel, Esher, Bach". he's amazing and i've always wondered what kind of crazy stuff he'd come up with if he had photoshop back in his time. he is dead isn't he?

This is so cute, and really well-done. I especially love the smiley people going up the stairs backwards, and "LEGS DO NOT BEND THAT WAY". Loads of fun to look at. I hope this wins.

Ahh... such tongue in cheek here! Is this a pictorial comment on the way teachers kill creativity i our children? Imagine for a moment if Escher really was graded as such, would he have continued?? Thinks that make you go, "Hmmmmm...."

I like this piece a lot, I actually had an art teacher on the same mentality. He criticized anything that was outside the box.

Thanks to everyone for the comments & kind words. This was a fun piece to do. My only regret is that I didn't stuff it with more references. Maybe there's another lost assignment out there with a curl-up on it or some metamorphosing swans...
