As the recent tsunami waves retreated to the ocean, they flushed off land oils, paints and other hazardous chemicals. One such chemical, 'high-density Ethyl Toluene' sank rapidly to the bottom of the Indian ocean and caused severe damage to the marine ecology. Giant turtles, prior unknown to science, left their normal habitat at a depth of 18,000 feet to find shallow water. This species was seen 400 miles south of the Maldives, only 300 feet below sea-level.

Roiters: Hai-Mnot-Laian Island, Indonesia: During the recent aid effort for the Asian Pacific oceanic tsunami disaster, on a remote and largely ignored Pacific island group, European scientists stumbled upon a species of miniature elelphant as yet unclassified. "This confirms, in absolute and irrefutable terms, that environment shapes the dynamics of growth", said Dr. Chaim Notmakinthisupowitz of the National Biological Bureau. Shown here "walking" a full grown Hai-Mnot-Laian bull elephant, Dr. Notmakinthisupowitz commented, "They're very playful, but people shouldn't jump into adopting these guys as pets". "If you thought Great Danes left steamy piles, you need more than a "pooper-scooper" (tm) with these guys! You need a "crappo-back-hoe"! Dr. Notmakinthisupowitz is regarded as quite the "wag" within scientific circles, but is still highly regarded. Dr. Notmakinthisupowitz's colleague, Dr. Heezfullakrapowitz is said to disagree, but was unavailable for comment.
